Sure, we can tell you that if you attend a District conference you will be motivated, inspired, challenged and re-energized. We can tell you that, as it is true. Just ask any long-time Toastmaster member that regularly goes to conferences.

That’s what draws them back conference after conference.

In fact, that very reason is what has drawn long-time member Doug Anderson DTM to our conferences. Doug is a Past District 21 Governor, has been our D21 Auditor for many years and has served as the host for many of our conference hospitality suites. D21 is well known for the quality and fun of its hospitality suites, conference after conference.

Doug and his company Pacific First Dental & Healthcare Plans, have also sponsored many hospitality suites.

This spring conference reaches a significant milestone for Doug, in that this will be the 85th conference that he has attended in D21. Yes, you read that right! 85 conferences!

If you are new to Toastmasters and especially the world of Toastmastering outside your club, here is a quick overview.

You will be kept busy from Friday afternoon until Sunday at noon. You will hear seasoned motivational speakers as well as attend thought-provoking educational sessions presented by some of our seasoned Toastmasters. You will have loads of time to interact and network with fellow Toastmasters from around our district. And some from out of the province and our country.

You won’t go hungry. We have gourmet-style meals planned throughout the conference.

You won’t be bored. If you still have energy by the time the evening rolls around, we have entertainment for you. Friday evening features a special entertainment activity facilitated by Kelowna Toastmasters. Saturday evening brings an after-dinner party and then a dance. Oh, and don’t forget our Hospitality Suites. Another great opportunity to meet new Toastmaster friends or catch up with long-time friends.

Friday April 20

  • Registration Opens
  • 3 to 5 pm – District Executive Council Meeting:
  • 5 to 5:30 pm – First-Timer’s Reception: If this is your first D21 Toastmasters conference ever, you are invited to join the D21 Leadership Executive and your fellow first-timers, for a drink at the First-timers Reception.
  • 6:20 to 6:30 pm – Parade of Banners
  • 6 to 7 pm – Official Opening of the conference
  • 7 to 8 pm Gourmet Buffet Dinner (did you notice the word ‘gourmet’? Nothing but the best, when you come to Kelowna!)
  • Presentation of the Toastmasters Community & Leadership Award
  • 8:10 to 9 pm – Keynote Speaker, Mary Morrison DTM, Toastmasters International Director
  • 9:15 to 10:15 Entertainment provided by Kelowna Toastmasters
  • 9:30 pm to 1:00 am – Hospitality Suite (Hosted by Doug Anderson DTM and sponsored by Pacific First Dental & Healthcare Plans)
